The pigsty where all sorts of animals are kept is in the kelod, or seaward part of the compound.







Cock fight is still a very important part of Balinese culture, though controversial because of anti-gambling laws. A cock fight is viewed as a religious event, as blood offerings to the earth spirits and is governed by a complex set of rules.

The toilet is also placed in this area of the compound.
